Arrival & Dismissal

Every great day begins and ends with peace, purpose, and a well-organized carline.

To ensure a smooth and secure experience for all students, TCS uses one carline process for families with students in TK–8th grade. Please review the following procedures carefully and refer to the time slots below based on your child’s grade level.

• Display your physical TCS-issued hang tag (with your child’s name and grade) from your rearview mirror.
• Carline enters from Jackson Street. Please follow staff directions to maintain a safe and efficient traffic flow.

• Depending on traffic flow, staff may direct you to loop around the birdcage playground or proceed straight through.

• During morning arrival, ensure that all belongings are packed, backpacks are on, and students are ready to exit the vehicle before reaching the Angel Wing. Please wait for a staff member or Safety Patrol to open the car door before allowing students to exit.

• All students will enter and exit vehicles under the Angel Wing, the covered walkway between the Sanctuary and classroom building.

• Remain in your vehicle—a TCS staff member or Safety Patrol will greet your child, open their door, and assist your child in and out of the car. 

• To ensure a smooth start to our school day, the carline gates close promptly at 8:08 a.m., two minutes before our official start time of 8:10 a.m. This is essential to ensure all TCS students are inside the building on time and can safely cross the Angel Wing to attend chapel.

• Late arrivals: If you arrive after 8:08 AM, gates will be closed. Please park and walk your child into the front lobby to sign them in with our receptionist.

• For safety reasons, the use of cell phones (including hands-free devices) is not permitted during carline.

• If you arrive early for dismissal or the line is full, please circle the block or park legally offsite until the carline opens.

• For safety, please ensure that each student has a designated seat and seatbelt in your vehicle.

A great option for families who prefer to park and personally greet their child.

Morning Walk-up:

• Park legally using nearby metered parking or the parking garage (garage tickets can be validated at the TCS reception desk).

• Enter the school building through the main Allen Yowell Hall entrance, under the Angel Wing.

• TCS Staff and student Safety Patrols will be on hand to greet you and assist your child in finding their way to class.

Afternoon Walk-up:

• Walk-up families will meet a TCS staff member at the side door on the south side of Allen Yowell Hall, near the green cross.
• Please bring your TCS-issued hang tag to ensure a secure pick-up.
• A staff member will call for your child, who will be escorted to meet you at the door.

Reminder: If you forget your hang tag, you'll need to show a picture ID and wait for confirmation—thank you for understanding!

Our rolling start to a great day!

The TCS Express offers a convenient and reliable transportation option for families living in the Lake Nona and southeast Orlando area. Our bus service provides both morning and afternoon routes, ensuring a smooth ride to and from school for students in this community.

• Annual Fee: $3,000 per student, with a reduced rate of $2,500 for each additional sibling.

• Payment: Fees are prepaid via FACTS and are due on June 5th or at the signing of the contract. Please note, fees are non-refundable.
• Service Details: The bus will pick up students at a designated spot near the Lake Nona Country Club, with a morning pick-up at 7:15 a.m. and an afternoon departure from TCS at 3:15 p.m.
• Sign-Up: Families wishing to utilize the bus service must complete a contract/form. Sign up here!

This service allows us to better plan and allocate resources for our growing TCS family, and we’re thrilled to provide this convenience for our Lake Nona riders.

A few helpful reminders below will keep arrival and dismissal running safely and efficiently—for everyone in the car and on the sidewalk.

• Be patient during the first weeks: Expect longer wait times at the start of the year as students, staff, and families learn the rhythm of arrival and dismissal. Things smooth out quickly!
• Eyes up, phones down: For everyone’s safety, cell phone use—including hands-free devices—is not permitted while in the carline. Please stay alert and focused on students and staff.
• Late arrivals: If you arrive after 8:08 AM, gates will be closed. Please park and walk your child into the front lobby to sign them in with our receptionist.
• Authorized pick-ups only: Only individuals listed on the Transportation form in FACTS may pick up students. If someone not listed arrives for your child, they will not be released until we receive permission from a custodial parent. You can also notify the front office in writing or by phone for same-day changes.
• Carpooling is encouraged: We love when families team up! Carpooling helps reduce traffic and speeds up the line.
• No curbside drop-offs: Please do not drop children off in the street or from an unmarked curb around campus. This creates an unsafe environment for your child and others. If you prefer not to use carline, please park legally and walk your child to the angel wing.
• Park with purpose: If parking to walk up, please use legal spaces on Rosalind or Jackson for older students. Leave Church Street spaces available for our youngest Lions and families delivering large items.
• Stay alert and stay put: During carline, wait until all children in your car have fully entered or exited the vehicle before pulling forward. Please remain in your car and give your full attention to the process—every child’s safety depends on it.
• REACH aftercare: Students not picked up by 3:25 p.m. will be brought to REACH and a $25 drop-in fee will be billed. Thank you for being prompt!
• Shared campus considerations: We are blessed to share our downtown campus with First Presbyterian Church of Orlando. Please note that significant events on their calendar may occasionally require us to adjust dismissal procedures.
