Susan Clauss Named 2026 Heart of a Champion Award Recipient
Amber Huhn

Behind every thriving school is a team of dedicated staff members whose work often happens quietly, faithfully, and behind the scenes. This year, The Christ School is proud to continue our annual tradition of recognizing those individuals whose servant hearts and joyful presence help our community flourish each day.

The Heart of a Champion Award honors a non-teaching staff member whose commitment, humility, and love for others reflect the spirit and mission of TCS in both big and small ways.

We are delighted to name Mrs. Susan Clauss as the 2026 recipient of the Heart of a Champion Award.

These guiding words—love others, exude joy, and constantly improve—are woven into the fabric of The Christ School, and Mrs. Clauss lives them out daily. Her unwavering positivity, servant heart, and commitment to excellence make her a shining example of the kind of humble leadership this award was created to celebrate.

“She’s the glue that keeps TCS together.”

Susan Clauss

Mrs. Clauss is known across campus as a steady encourager and a joyful presence. Whether she is ensuring our carline runs smoothly, managing facilities, supporting students and staff, or keeping daily operations on track, her impact is felt in countless ways, many of them unseen, but all deeply meaningful.

Colleagues describe her as someone who does far more than her role requires—and does it all with a smile. She is quick to notice needs, slow to complain, and always eager to serve.

Not everything she does is visible, but her impact is felt throughout the entire TCS community.

Her example of sincerity, generosity, and quiet leadership is a gift to our school. Mrs. Clauss reminds us that true excellence is often found in humble service, and that when we lead with love, we leave a lasting impact. The Christ School is stronger, more joyful, and better because of her.
