Marketing & Communications

The Christ School Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Alissa Plaisance as Head of School, following a thoughtful, thorough, and prayerful search process.

Guided by the Head of School Search Committee and supported by Parent and Faculty Subcommittees, the Board carefully evaluated an outstanding group of candidates before selecting Mrs. Plaisance to lead The Christ School into its next chapter. The Board believes her combination of educational expertise, collaborative leadership, unwavering faith, and deep understanding of the TCS community uniquely positions her to build upon the school's strong foundation while leading it confidently into the future.

"Throughout this process, we sought the Lord's wisdom and remained committed to finding the leader He had prepared for this next chapter of The Christ School," said Amanda McEwan, Chairwoman of The Christ School Board of Trustees. "We are confident that God has faithfully answered those prayers. Alissa brings an exceptional combination of experience, vision, character, and a deep love for our students, faculty, staff, and families. We are excited to see how God will use her leadership as The Christ School continues to grow and flourish."

Mrs. Plaisance brings more than 25 years of experience in education, having served as a classroom teacher, instructional support specialist, professional development leader, and most recently, Director of The Bridge and Student Support at The Christ School. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Exceptional Education from the University of Central Florida and continues to strengthen her leadership through advanced executive education, including the Harvard Certificate in School Leadership and Management.

During her eleven years at The Christ School, Mrs. Plaisance has provided leadership across every area of the school while overseeing The Bridge, the school's nationally recognized dyslexia program. Known for her collaborative leadership style, she is passionate about developing strong faculty cultures, partnering with families, and ensuring every student is challenged, supported, and known.

Reflecting on her appointment, Mrs. Plaisance shared:

"It is with great joy, humility, and confidence in God's faithfulness that I accept the opportunity to serve as the next Head of School at The Christ School. I am honored by the Board's trust and deeply grateful for a community that has become so much more than a school to my family.

For the past eleven years, TCS has provided an exceptional Christ-centered education for our daughters, given me the privilege of serving alongside our extraordinary faculty and staff, and allowed me to help lead meaningful growth across our school. Together, we have accomplished so much, yet,  I believe with all my heart that God is not finished with The Christ School.

As we celebrate 30 years of His faithfulness, I am excited to lead us into our next chapter. Together, we will build on the strong foundation that has been laid, strengthen our mission, pursue excellence in all we do, and embrace all that God has in store. My family is all in, and I look forward to partnering with our faculty, staff, families, alumni, and supporters as we look toward the future."

As The Christ School celebrates its 30th anniversary, the Board is confident that Mrs. Plaisance will continue to strengthen the school's Christ-centered mission while preserving the culture of academic excellence, joyful learning, and faithful community that have defined TCS for three decades.

The Board of Trustees extends its sincere gratitude to the members of the Head of School Search Committee, the Parent and Faculty Subcommittees, and the many faculty, staff, families, and friends who faithfully prayed for and participated in the search process.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Alissa Plaisance and praying for her as she begins this exciting new chapter of leadership at The Christ School.
