The Christ School Launches New Thespian Troupe and Shines at First District Festival
Amber Huhn

The Christ School is delighted to announce the official launch of TCS Thespian Troupe 12213, marking an important milestone in the growth of our performing arts program. The troupe was formally chartered on August 31, 2025, by the International Thespian Society (ITS)—the National Honor Society for theatre students dedicated to honoring student achievement in theatre arts.

Participation in the International Thespian Society reflects TCS’s commitment to providing students with rich opportunities for creative expression, collaboration, and confidence-building through the performing arts.

A Strong First Showing at the District 8 Junior Thespian Festival

Just weeks after receiving its charter, TCS Thespian Troupe 12213 made its debut at the District 8 Junior Thespian Festival this past weekend. Middle school students in the Rising Stars Theatre Elective presented four musical numbers, three monologues, and two scenes, showcasing poise, preparation, and passion in each performance.

Our students rose to the occasion, and we are proud to share that our students earned a remarkable six “Excellent” ratings and three “Superior” ratings, the top honor awarded at the district level.

Their outstanding performances earned every participating student a qualification for the Florida State Festival later this year, where they’ll continue to grow as performers and receive valuable feedback from theatre professionals.

Darling Heldt

Led by Ms. Darling Heldt

Our theatre teacher, Ms. Darling Heldt, has poured her passion and energy into developing this program and encouraging students to step boldly into their gifts. Her leadership has been key to launching our troupe and preparing students so well for their first competition.

Looking Ahead

As TCS Thespian Troupe 12213 continues to grow, our students will gain even more opportunities to perform, compete, collaborate, and expand their artistic gifts. The Christ School is excited to support their journey as they honor God through their creativity and share their talents with the broader theatre community.
